Facebook is in full swing to beef up its security after its public data are made public by a hacker. Now it is rolling out a new security measure of allowing its users to log off remotely from any other computer.

To do this, you have to go to account settings on your Facebook account and then click the “change” that is present next to the “account security”.  There you can be able to see the rest of your Facebook login and other details like the type of device and the nearby city and to log out from any of the login; you can click on the “end activity” button. This facility will be made available to public from the next couple of weeks and this facility will be accessible only from computers and not from mobile devices.

This feature is similar to the feature that is present in Gmail that offers its users and Facebook claims this as one of their security measures to allow its customers to keep their logins secure.

T-Mobile, now in their Scoop page said that the new upcoming T-Mobile G2 will be coming and rocking with an 800MHz new Scorpion Processor and will be running hot in Android that is Fryo and also it will be ready for flash 10.1. But the persons who used only to look for the megahertz processors will be slightly disappointed as those are 1GHz Snapdragon and this Scorpion’s clock is fully 200MHz slower than those gifted high end phones.

But you don’t want to get upset as this is a new processor that is newer than QSD8650 and QSD8250, and it is not a 1:1 comparison between them. You have to wait for some time to arrive at a conclusion after reviewing some benchmarks after the release.

Price Leak: This might available for $199.99 with contract and $499.99 as raw.

Yesterday in a music key note event, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs announced to the mass that they have now reached 230,000 iOS device activations per day. This announcement got some significance as only last week Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt announced that their number of Android activations per day is around 200,000. Jobs continued after the announcement and said that their number is purely the number of new activations per day and it is not like some other companies who also include the upgrade numbers in their list pointing out the announcement of Google. With respect to this comment, Google released a statement saying that “The Android numbers are not the one that includes the upgrades, but are in fact the new users as we include only the Google services.” This adds some more spice to the Apple Versus Google fire.

It’s almost 4 years completed from the launch of Apple’s iPhone and nearly two years after that Google opened its source for the Android OS and now it’s another Giant Microsoft to re-enter the mobile market with a bang with its all new Windows Phone 7. It’s now using new plan to catch other smart phones and the plan is hot cash. The company has planned to spend more than half a billion for marketing purpose only and is ready to pay for the developers and handset manufacturers to make the Windows Phone 7 a well seeded launch.

A telecommunication analyst Jonathan Goldberg at Deutsche Bank guesses that Microsoft will spend around $400 for marketing purpose alone excluding the money that it already committed to pay for the “non recurring engineering” for the manufacturers of handset. Goldberg says that they have to do something to stay in the game and it is like make or break type scenario for Microsoft. He also says that their market is still wide open and hence they can attract users from other feature phones as they don’t have any share in Android or in Apple.

When visiting Microsoft’s headquarters earlier this month, Goldberg was informed by its executives about the Microsoft’s plan in launching its Windows Phone 7 along with the carrier plans and handset manufacturing partners and he came to know that Microsoft is ready with hot cash and it will be spending billions for marketing and other development works.

Greg Sullivan, Microsoft’s Senior product manager said that they are in a long term plan and refused to comment anything on the estimates. He said that the mobile phone market is growing through leaps and bounds and there is much to achieve through it.

Microsoft is in the stage to start with huge success and that half a billion will make the difference for sure.

Facebook trying to trademark the word “Face”!

August 27, 2010 by Mike

Facebook is trying to eliminate all its rhyming names and first it attacked Placebook through court to change its name and now it is going after Teachbook which is similar to Facebook in pronunciation. It is not the book that stands in the second half of the name, but if there is any Face in the first half means then it will attract Facebook lawyers to your site. The company Facebook already holds the trademark for the word “Facebook”, now trying to get trademark for the word “Face”. They took the trademark application for “Face” from a UK based company CIS internet that owned a site named Faceparty.com.

One person is strongly objecting this trademark stand by Facebook and he is Aaron Greenspan. He is Mark Zuckerberg’s classmate and helped him in developing the application Facebook for which he was settled later. Now Aaron Greenspan is having his own company Think Computer and also having an application called Facecash which is used for mobile payments. He fears that if Facebook is able to get trademark for the word “Face”, it will be a real problem for his application “Facecash”. He has decided to back all the small proprietors by asking court for some time to oppose Facebook’s stand for trademark.

Aaron Greenspan getting an extension of time doesn’t mean that the trademark stand of Facebook will be blocked. But in that time, he can explain court about the word “Face” and its generic nature, and Facebook itself not using the name as a unique one; it is using that in the combination of “book”. So it will be hard for Facebook to get trademark for “Face” and so it may go for the word “like” with which it own dozens of applications.
